Ruth gained a Graduate Diploma in Music from Newcastle College and then won a scholarship to attend the Royal Scottish Academy of Music and Drama graduating with a BA in Music. Whilst at the Academy Ruth had the opportunity to sing in master-classes with Benjamin Luxon, Willard White and locally with Janice Cairns. A versatile and experienced performer, Ruth mixed her roles in 2014 from Trabucco and 'Sister' Guardiana in La forza del destino to Maddalena in Rigoletto. In 2015 she will be again singing repertoire ranging from traditional operatic roles in Nicolai’s Merry Wives of Windsor and Verdi’s Falstaff to modern musicals as Kate in Kiss me Kate.
