Opera Nova based in the Tees Valley in the North East of England performs opera music at a variety of venues throughout the region.
The programme for 2019 features two very different operas:
Dido and Aeneas - music by Henry Purcell with libretto by Nahum Tate, composed and first performed around 1688
Trial by Jury - music by Arthur Sullivan and libretto by W. S. Gilbert, which opened on 25 March 1875

Opera Nova provides a forum for operatic soloists and chorus to develop their abilities and new members are always welcome.
Rehearsals are held Tuesday evenings at Holy Trinity with Saint Mark Church, Stockton-on-Tees - see map.
