Ed Kirker began his singing career by joining the National Youth Boys Choir in 2016, aged 12. He went on to become a music scholar at the Perse School, Cambridge, singing with the National Youth Training Choir and became choral scholar at Our Lady and the English Martyrs Church, Cambridge. He has recently finished his final year studying BA Music at Durham University where he has held choral scholarships at University College and St John’s College as well as singing with the Durham University Chamber Choir, National Youth Voices, and the National Youth Choir (18-25) where he is Bass 1 Section Leader. He enjoyed performing Iolanthe with the award-winning Durham Opera Ensemble at the International G+S Festival in 2025. Most recently, he was the baritone soloist for the performance of Brahms’ German Requiem with Stapleford Choral Society and performed the baritone solos in Howard Goodall’s Eternal Light: A Requiem with the Richmondshire Choral Society. Looking forward, he is very excited to be joining the Genesis Sixteen choir under the direction of Harry Christophers, starting in August.
